Frank (Ferenc) Almos


Frank Almos passed away early on the morning of May 13, 2017 at the age of 78 in the Menno Hospital in Abbotsford, BC. Frank leaves behind a son, Attila (Lisa) and their two children, Jayden and Lauren, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Julia, his parents Jozsef and Maria, as well as his two brothers, Jozsef and Laszlo. Frank was born in Barcs, Hungary on October 9th, 1938 and came to Canada in 1956. Frank spent a long career working as a miner and after a few years in Ontario he moved to Yellowknife, Northwest Territories where he spent 17 years. In 1975 he moved to Kimberley, British Columbia where he worked in the mine until retirement in 1997, followed by a move to Abbotsford, British Columbia. Frank was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, camping and exploring the countryside. The family would like to thank the staff at Menno Hospital for their care and compassion provided to Frank during his years as a resident of the facility. The family will be holding a Celebration of Life. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC or a charity of your choice.
