Evelyn Joy "Evy" Seifred

Evelyn Joy Seifred (Evy) peacefully went to heaven to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on August 3, 2019 at the age of 87 years. Her sweet and gentle demeanor will be dearly missed. She was born in St. Boswells, Saskatchewan on December 7, 1931 and moved with the family to Langley, British Columbia in 1947 where she eventually met and married Frederick William Seifred in 1952. Eventually they purchased a hazelnut farm on Vye Road in Abbotsford where they farmed for many years. During those years they travelled extensively spending many winters in their favourite spot in California. Evelyn is survived by her husband of 67 years Fred Seifred, her daughter Lori Funk and son-in-law Walter Funk, her brother Clint (Irene) Goertz and sisters-in-law Marian, Dorothy and Merla, and extended family members. She is predeceased by her parents Jake and Elizabeth Goertz, her son Brad, and brothers Vern, Orval and Don, and nephew Ronnie Goertz. Sincere appreciation for the excellent care given by the great nurses and doctors at ARHCC and the superb care givers at Homberg House. A celebration of Evelyn's life will be held on Friday, August 16th at 2 pm at Abbotsford Pentecostal Assembly on Gladwin Road.
