It is with heavy hearts the family of Evelen Hull announce her passing from cancer.
Evelen was born in Abbotsford, on January 9, 1932 and died peacefully at Holmberg Hospice House on July 23, 2020, with her son Steven by her side.
Evelen is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Sharron, her four grandchildren; Stewart, Raelene, Christopher, and Jamie, as well as her four great-grandchildren; Lanna, Lachlan, Linden and Crue, and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family and close friends. Evelen was predeceased by her oldest son, Stewart.
Evelen grew up in Abbotsford and graduated from Phillip Sheffield High School in 1950. She went on to become runner up for Miss Abbotsford that year, before going on to her career with Telus (BC Tel), working her way up to management and raising her two boys.
She retired from Telus in 1985 which provided her the freedom to further pursue her passion for travelling.
Evelen was an avid traveller, up until her last trip at the age of 87 to Vietnam. She loved seeing the world and experiencing new things, from riding camels in Egypt to watching penguins in Antarctica.
Evelen will forever be remembered and missed for her fierce independence, her quick wit, her buoyant, animated personality, and her ever-jingling, oversized earrings.
Thank you to the loving and caring staff at Holmberg House. Per Evelen's request, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, Evelen's family requests to have donations made to Abbotsford Hospice Society.
