HEPPNER, Esther
Esther Heppner passed away peacefully at Sherwood Manor on Saturday, August 30, 2008 at the age of 87. She leaves her loving husband of 68 years, Henry Heppner; daughters Janice (Frank) Kranabetter, Marion Kehler, Helene Heppner (Wayne Cyr); brother Edward Sawatsky; sisters Louise Beck and Eva Williamson; 11 grandchildren; and 22 (+1) great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her son Roy Heppner in 1980.
Esther was born in Laird, SK September 2, 1920; the 5th of 11 children. She married Henry Heppner and moved to BC in 1942. Esther moved to many communities due to her husbands work until 1965. In 1967 she attended Vancouver Vocational Inst. and received her Diploma in Licensed Practical Nursing. She worked at MSA Hospital on the surgical and maternity wards until her retirement.
