Erwin

Erwin Stelke passed away after a brief illness. He was born in 1921 in Kaunas, Lithuania and moved to Canada in 1951. He married Maria, whom he met on the ship coming to Canada and remained married to her for 54 years until his death. He lived in Vancouver 10 years and then made his home in Maple Ridge for close to 40 years. In 2001, he and his wife moved to Abbotsford and there he happily and, for the most part in good health, lived out the rest of his days.
He is survived by his wife Maria; son Bob Stelke; daughter Karen Blom and his three grandÂchildren, Matthew, Christopher and Cassandra; sister Irma, in Lethbridge, Alberta; nieces Toni, Christel, Renate (Gordon), Ingrid (Ian) and their children and other relatives in Germany. His only other sister Lucie (Jim) of Seattle, Washington predeceased Erwin in 2002.
There will be a Memorial Service for Erwin on Wed., April 25,
10:30 am at Peace Lutheran Church, corner of Ware St. and Marshall Rd., Abbotsford. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Peace Lutheran Church or the Salvation Army.
