It is with deep sadness that I announce the passing of Len. He was my husband and my best friend as well as a father, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend.
Len lived life to the fullest He was an avid music lover, he had a passion for travelling, playing bridge, reading, going to the theatre, cooking, exercising with friends at the rec centre and, most of all, sharing time with family and friends.
Len started his working career in the grocery business rising to the level of store manager with Super Valu. In his 30’s he bought the Red Baron Restaurant at the Abbotsford Airport where he and his wonderful staff served many fine meals over a period of twenty years before closing the restaurant and retiring.
Len will forever be missed by his wife, Sheila, his daughter, Laura (Tom) Niebuhr, his sons, Chris (Veronica), Mike (Kathrine), and Darren as well as grandchildren Tonya, Natasha, Emily, Serena, Jared, Claire, Bryce, Erik, Zoe and Vance and ten great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Viola Kiess, brother-in-law, Jim Boyd ([Martha) , sister-in-law, Ann Hanowell, brothers-in-law, William Ho and Don Harvey as well as many wonderful nieces, nephews and cousins.
Len was predeceased by his son, Kevin, his parents, Henry and Elizabeth, his sisters, Elvera and Herta, and his nephew, Glenn.
Len will be remembered by all for always being ready to help others and for his cheerful, upbeat personality. He was such a good friend to all.
