Mar 9, 1923 - Jan 2, 2018
Survived by sons, Abe (Shirley) and Ryan (Marilyn); daughter Heidi Havery (Bruce); daughter-in-law Roselle; 8 granddaughters and  13 great grandchildren.

Predeceased by her husband, Ron (Reinhold) and her son, Roland.

Erika was born in a displaced persons Camp in Lamsdorf, Germany following WW 1. Deportation, relocation and personal loss of country, family and culture created deep wounds which never fully healed. Despite the difficulty of these earlier years Erika had a gentle and loving soul.

She excelled in music, learning to play classical violin and was a gifted singer, into her 90s. The songs she sang, as well as the meals she made, were her gift of joy to her family.  In mid-life she began painting and this gave her much pleasure for the remainder of her life.

Faith was a struggle for her, yet in her later years she regained a deep confidence in Jesus which gave her peace. We are thankful for her life which demonstrated commitment, resiliency, kindness and love.

The family is grateful to the caregivers within the Menno Facilities who showed loving support to Erika over the past 5 years and added joy to her life.

Memorial service will be held at Henderson's Funeral Home, Sat., Feb. 3 at 11:00 a.m.
