JANZEN, Eric
Eric John Janzen was born in Choritza, Ukraine on July 2, 1941. As a child of wartime he had a tumultuous childhood. He and his family were evacuated from the Ukraine to Poland then to Germany and finally to the safety of Parguay in 1945 then to Canada in 1954 when he was 13. He graduated from the John Oliver High School in 1965 with distinction. He was granted acceptance to Harvard, but chose on University of British Columbia where he completed his Bachelor of Commerce and entered U.B.C Law School in 1966 and passed the bar in 1967. On September 6th, 1969 he married Nina Caldarella in Brooklyn, New York. He built his dream home in Abbotsford, BC and settled there to raise his children Jennifer and Jason Janzen. He moved to Abbotsford in 1972 where he started his law firm which then grew to a partnership. He retired in 2004. Eric was a man of generosity with strong ethics. He was known to provide legal service for those in need. Eric left us on June 24th, 2015, 3 months and 2 days following his dear wife Nina.
Eric is survived by his loving children, Jennifer Janzen (Jo Farley) and Jason Janzen (Adrienne Goulas). He leaves fond memories with his cherished grandchildren Gavin, Nina, and Yianni Janzen and Mia and Zoé Farley.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at 1:00pm at Henderson's Funeral Home, 34537 Marshall Road, Abbotsford BC. In lieu of flowers the family encourages donation to the BC Cancer Foundation.
