1921 – 2007
With great sadness we announce the passing of Emily Julia Wolden. Emily passed away quietly and joined our Lord Jesus on April 30, 2007, after a short battle with cancer, at Christine Morrison Hospice.
Emily was born in Ituna, Sask. on Nov. 15, 1921. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Roy, her children Dennis Eastman, Wayne (Maryann) Eastman, Rory (Betty Ann Pennier), Barry (Tracy), Holly (Gary) Zehner, Paula (Greg) Thiessen, 13 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Nettie and her baby brother Alfred. She is predeceased by her sisters Annie, Stella and her brother Alec.
Emily’s greatest joys in life were her family and friends, playing cards and going to bingo. She returned that joy to all who knew her through her generous spirit and loving nature. We can’t Âimagine life without her but draw comfort knowing that she is now whole and happy and with God who has been with her always.
A memorial service was held Thursday, May 3, 2007 at 11:00 am at Woodlawn Mission Funeral Home.
At this time the family would like to express their gratitude to the 2nd floor nursing staff who assisted with Emily. To all the nurses at the Christine Morrison Hospice, you made the transition so much smoother and easier and made Emily’s last days so very very comforting. Thank you to Dr. Kornelson and a special thank you to Dr. Lynn Potter.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Emily Wolden’s memory can be made to the Mission Hospice Society, 7324 Hurd St., Mission, BC V2V 3H5.
