Jan. 25, 1924 – Oct. 9, 2007
Long time Abbotsford resident, Elsie Betty Baerg, passed away peacefully into the presence of her Lord on Tuesday with her family at her side. Elsie was born in Alexandroda, Russia and immigrated to Canada with her parents at the age of four months. Her Canadian journey took her from Elm Creek, Manitoba, through Agassiz, Greendale, West Vancouver and finally in 1945, with her husband Isaac, to their new homestead in Abbotsford. There they set up Baerg’s Service Station on Huntingdon Road.
She touched and blessed many lives along the way and her strong faith, sense of humor and compassion for others where a great encouragement to her Âfamily and friends.
Elsie was predeceased by her husband Isaac; 3 brothers and 2 sisters. She is survived and will be missed by her four sons and their families: Jim (Joan) of Kelowna and their children Kimberly (Bruce) Campbell and her children Sabrina and Samantha of Canmore, AB; Karleen (Ken) Kantymir and their children Dixon, Nate and Sienna of Salmon Arm; Terry (Jade) of West Vancouver and Trev (Elizabeth) of Peachland. Tom (Lucille) of Abbotsford and their children Clayton (Nadine) of Mission and Carman (Barton) Thiessen and their children Riley, Bridger, Nikolai and Mattea of St. John’s, NFLD.
