VRIEND; Elisabeth
Elisabeth Vriend passed away peacefully into the arms of her Saviour early Monday morning, June 13, 2016. Elisabeth was 91 years old. Elisabeth, commonly known as Bets or Betty was born in Andyk, The Netherlands on December 3, 1924, the youngest of six children and married Peter Vriend May 1, 1947. In August of 1947 they landed on the East Coast of Canada and made their way to Houston, BC. After her husband died tragically in 1970 she moved to Victoria and in 1989 to Abbotsford. She was a devoted mother, Oma (Grandma) and Great Oma. She will be dearly missed by her children Jim (Marilyn), John (Judi), Betty (Hans Tol), Peter (Gill); 14 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren. She will be remembered for her strong faith, her eagerness to do well and her willingness to help others. With heartfelt appreciation we thank the staff at Menno Home for the love and care they gave her in the last year and a half. Thank you! A Celebration of her life will be held on Monday, June 20, 2016 at 1:00 pm in Trinity Christian Reformed Church, 3215 Trethewey St., Abbotsford.
