Our loving mother Elisabeth passed into the presence of the Lord on Friday, September 26, 2003, at the age of 87.
Born Elisabeth Rempel on January 6, 1916 at Rhineland, SK, she married John Funk in 1937. They farmed in Saskatchewan until moving to B.C. in 1960, living in Abbotsford for three years, then in Salmon Arm where they resided until John's death in January 1995. Elizabeth moved to Abbotsford shortly afterwards, where she made her home until her passing.
She was predeceased by husband John, two grandchildren, three brothers and one sister.
She is survived by five sons, John (Betty) of San Diego, Ca., Otto (Phyllis) of Abbotsford, Pete (Bev) of Surrey, Jim (Jane) of Kamloops, Steve of Abbotsford, and five daughters Judy (Bob) Fairclough of Abbotsford, Eva (Ron) Aish of Drayton Valley, AB, Margaret (Ken) McPherson of Terrace, Trudi (Gerry) Schalm of Penticton, and Pauline (Larry) Christianson of Metiskow, AB, as well as 23 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren, four brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 1st at 1:00 p.m. from the Abbotsford Pentecostal Assembly (Lucas Centre) at 3145 Gladwin Road in Abbotsford. Friends who wish to view, may do so prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mom's memory to 100 Huntley Street.
