It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of mom at 92 years old at the Menno Hospital in Abbotsford, BC on December 8th, 2018. Electa was born in Regina, Saskatchewan and came to BC in the late 40's with her husband, John Fitchell, until his passing in 1975.
Electa (Ellie) lived in Abbotsford for the last 35 years. She was predeceased by her husband's son Charles Fitchell, daughter Jacqueline Astels, and parents Henry and Margaret Allan. She is survived by her daughter Violet Telford, grandchildren - Morgan Assu (Jacquie), Jeanine Slack (Corby), Shelley Assu, John Court (Judy), Bruce Bateman (Jaime), Matt Fitchell, son- in-law Jean Plante (Frenchie), and 11 great-grandchildren and 6 great- great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by sisters, Laura Penner of Saskatoon, SK, Mary Kilback of Edmonton, AB and Marlene Fjeld of Grande Prairie, AB.
Ellie was a very caring and nurturing person, always wanting to help and look after all. She had a great passion for dancing and golfing right up to her late 80's. Electa will be very sadly missed by all.
A ceremony to lay Ellie's urn to rest will take place at Valley View Memorial Gardens at a later date.
