Edward Theodore FRIESEN

Edward "Ed" Friesen late of Abbotsford passed away suddenly in the presence of the Lord on Saturday, April 23, 2005 at the age of 71 years. He is survived by his loving wife Helen of 50 years; son Gerry (Bonny) of Abbotsford; daughters Darlene (Rick) Heriot of Abbotsford, and Jennifer (Charles) Boldt of Chilliwack; grandchildren Chad (fiancé Sharon), Jordan, Emily, Chelsey, Breanna, Holly, Natalie, Graham, and Joshua; brother Alfred (Ann) of Oakville MB; sister-in-law Sue (David) Lewis; and nieces and nephews. Ed was predeceased by his parents, brother Arthur and sister Catherine. Ed began his career at the age of 22 years, owning a road construction company. He worked in Southern Manitoba until 1971. Ed moved part of the company to Abbotsford but continued to commute between the two provinces as a private pilot. Ed was always thankful for his "bountiful blessings" and generously shared these blessings with others. He was an adventurous man who had a zest for life, enjoying quadding, camping, traveling, playing his guitar and singing with his family. Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 27, 2005 from 8:00 to 9:00 pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Clearbrook Road, Abbotsford. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Bakerview MB Church, 2285 Clearbrook Rd, Abbotsford. If friends so desire, donations in Ed’s memory may be made to the Ed Friesen Memorial Scholarship at Trinity Western University or Union Gospel Mission.
