Mr. Edward (Ted) Keniston late of Abbotsford, BC, passed away on September 10, 2014 at the age of 84 at Abbotsford Regional Hospital. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Mary; daughters, Diane (Richard), Sherrie (Daniel); 2 grandchildren, Sarah and Christopher; and 4 great-grandchildren, Autumn, Journey, Dawson and Olivia. As a young man of 19 years old, a trip to the Calgary airport sealed Ted's career choice that spanned 35 years as a commercial pilot. These years included crop-dusting in Alberta, flying float aircraft on the north and west coasts of British Columbia, a bush pilot in the Northwest Territories, forest fire patrol and air ambulance in the Kootenays of British Columbia. Upon retiring, Ted and Mary settled in Abbotsford and enjoyed a life of family, friends and travel. Ted's hobby in retirement was tinkering in his workshop and his grandson as a young child made the observation that "Papa could likely build a jet airplane in his shop". The family would like to thank the staff of the Palliative Care Unit of the Abbotsford Regional Hospital as well as the home care staff for their wonderful care of Ted. Also, a heartfelt thank you goes to the many friends for their caring support. Your kindness is greatly appreciated and will always be treasured. No service by request.
