Edna Margaret PENNER

Edna Margaret Penner (nee Flaata), passed away on September 18, 2006 at her home in Abbotsford at the age of 89. She was born in Bromhead, Saskatchewan on January 4, 1917 and moved to the Fraser Valley in 1938. She married George in 1939 where they began their lives together in Hatzic.

Edna was predeceased by her husband, George, her sister and dear friend Myrtle Penner (Pete), her brothers Marvin, Helmer (Cisley) and Percy Flaata. She will be lovingly remembered by her 12 children: Hank (Gail), Ruth (Dick) Aylard, Mary (John) McRae, Edna (Paul) Paxon, Rudy (Mary), Linda (Ken) McAllister, Carol (John) Oddy, Jim (Twylla), Della (Sal) Biondolillo, Gary (Cecilia), Rick (Cindy) and Rob (Joy); her brother Gilbert and sister-in-law Myrtle, 48 grandchildren, 62 great grand children and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her family will always remember her constant love and unwavering acceptance. They will cherish her quick wit and joyful spirit as well as her sincere devotion to her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. A Bible verse that fits our mom well is “Godliness, with contentment is great gain”.

A service will be held on Friday, September 23, at 1:00 pm at Woodlawn Mission Funeral Home, 7386 Horne St., Mission. Interment to follow at Hatzic ­cemetery.
