On Friday, January 12, 2007, Edith Elaine Bailey Ulvild passed away at MSA Hospital in Abbotsford, B.C. at the age of 87 years. She was born in Endiang, Alberta on May 19, 1919, raised in Hagen, Saskatchewan and moved to B.C. in 1943 where she married John Ulvild and raised three children.
Edith was predeceased by her husband John in July 2001 and brother Creighton Joiner in June 2003. She is survived by her son Marvin Ulvild, daughters Darlene Ulvild, Faith (Andre) Vachon, grandchildren Cyndi (Mark) Parks, Cheryl (Phil) Johnson, CJ Ulvild, Zachary Vachon, Celine Vachon, and four great grandchildren. Edith is also survived by her brother Howard Joiner, sister, June Weir, and many nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2007 between
7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, January 18, 2007 at 11:00 am with reception immediately following at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Clearbrook Rd., Abbotsford. Graveside to be held at 1:30 pm, Hazelwood Cemetery, Abbotsford. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bethesda Christian Association, home for the handicapped at #105-2975 Gladwin Rd., Abbotsford, BC, V2T 5T4.
