Edith Jane Loewen (nee Goerz) of Crofton, beloved wife of Les, passed away at the Cowichan Hospice House in Duncan at the age of 69 years.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Les; children: Jolene (Colin) Bales and Bradley Loewen; and her two grandchildren: Lucy and Oliver Bales.
Survived by her sister, Margaret Stevens and brother, Gilbert Goerz, she was predeceased by her brothers: Donald and Douglas.
Edie was born in Winkler, MB, and lived in Kitchener, ON, Winnipeg, MB, and Abbotsford, BC, where she settled. In her earlier years, Edie loved singing and was a member of several touring vocal groups and choirs.
Edie devoted her life to taking care of her family and always had time to help her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, quilting, and baking, and had a special talent for decorating the family home.
Edie also supported Les for many years in his business, behind the scenes.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Nanaimo Kidney Care Clinic and the Cowichan Hospice House for their care and compassion. A Private Memorial will be held in Abbotsford, BC.
