Dr. Ralph Norman ESTENSEN

June 16, 2007

Dr. Ralph Norman passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2007 from a sudden and invasive stroke.

Born in New Westminster, Ralph’s passion for working with animals began at an early age. As a young boy, Ralph knew that this would develop into a career in veterinary medicine. He earned his degree in agriculture from UBC in 1962, and became a veterinarian after having graduated from Guelph in 1967. Ralph truly enjoyed his profession and the friends he made along the way.

Ralph’s character was shaped by his strong and resilient spirit. He always stated, “In addition to good health, your most valuable asset is having an honest reputation.” Ralph lived by this principle every day of his life and inspired his family to do the same.

The family would like to express their deep gratitude to the paramedics, doctors and the CCU nurses of Langley Memorial Hospital for their compassion and care of Ralph. In respect of his wishes, there will be no funeral. Instead, Ralph would encourage his friends and family to make donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Dream Chasers Team in the 2007 Abbotsford Relay for Life (Canadian Cancer Society).
