Douglas Murray James "Doug" Marshall, passed away on October 27, 2002 at Peace Arch Hospital, White Rock. Born in Edmonton, Alberta, July 23, 1945 he had lived in the Fraser Valley and Vancouver area.
Doug spent many years in the radio and newspaper business both as a broadcaster and manager. He had an active faith life, and had completed studies as a pastor. He built many relationships and he enriched the lives of many. His passion was church history, and spent time as a lay leader. A former member of the Chilliwack Rotary Club, member of Toastmasters and Christian Businessmens Association in Vancouver.
Doug is survived by his wife Elaine; daughter Daylene; mother Ann Marshall of Edmonton; brothers Ray (Dorothy) Marshall of Surrey, Brian (Jan) Marshall of Edmonton, nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2002 at 4:00 p.m. at Victory Memorial Park Cemetery, 2977 King George Highway, Surrey, A celebration of Doug's life will be held at Victory Memorial Park Funeral Centre, 14831 - 28th Avenue, Surrey on Sunday, Nov. 3, 2002 at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers , memorial tributes in honour of Doug Marshall may be given to the Canadian Cancer Society or B.C. S.P.C.A.
