Douglas Leslie Brown, 88 of Abbotsford, BC passed away peacefully on November 17, 2018. Doug was born in Surrey, BC on February 14, 1930 to Jessie and Stephen Brown. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Helen of 63 years, his sister Irene, and four half siblings; Olive, Doreen, June and Jim and their spouses. He is survived by his five children; Gloria Cleve (Don Hunter), Irene Mitchell (Jim), Gordon Brown (Margret), James Brown, and Rodney Brown, eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and extended family and many friends. After working in the lumber industry for most of his life, Doug retired and eventually settled in Abbotsford Housing Co-op where he lived for over 20 years. A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The family extends a special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Christine Morrison Hospice in Mission for their loving care and family support. Donations may be made to the Christine Morrison Hospice in the Mission Hospital.
