Doug passed away, after a brief illness at Chilliwack General Hospital, surrounded by his family. He leaves to mourn his wife of 46 years, Sharon; his three children, David (Robin), Patricia (Tony) Ganzeveld, John (Joanne), his seven grandchildren, Richard (Courtney), Steven, Samantha, J.D., Amanda, Alisha and Lauren and his brother, Don and his family in Alberta.
Doug grew up in Richmond, BC where he and Sharon met and married. As a young RCMP Âofficer he was transferred to Ontario where they lived for many years and their 3 children were born. Doug retired after 21 years of service with the RCMP and the Marshalls relocated back to BC, finding their new home in Abbotsford. Doug started his second career at the Abbotsford McDonald’s where he was a manager for many years. He retired for the second time in 1991, spending countless hours at their property at the Glen at Maple Falls. Doug found great pleasure in his grandchildren and was looking forward to the birth of his first great-grandchild.
Service to be held Friday, December 22, 2006 at 2:00 pm at Henderson’s Funeral Home 45901 Victoria Ave, Chilliwack.
Should family and friends so desire, donations in his memory may be made to the SPCA.
