Dorothy passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Christine Morrison Hospice in Mission. She will be forever in the hearts of her family. She is predeceased by her husband, Eugene Tessaro, brothers, Howard Frost, Kenneth Kiernan, Bud Kiernan, and her daughter-in-law Elaine Tessaro (nee Dueck). Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Beth (Al) Byron, Joan (Tom) Tomlin, Marion McCristall, and her son Jim Tessaro. Her grandchildren include Greg (Tracey) Byron, Heather Byron, Denise Tomlin (Jon Mechan), Julie Tomlin, David McCristall, Amy (David) Green, Mark Tessaro, James (Carolin) Tessaro, and Paul Tessaro. Her great-grandchildren are Connor and Joel Byron. Dorothy grew up in Sumas Prairie and was an active member of the Sumas Women’s Institute and the Pioneer Committee. She was very enterprising and entrepreneurial and always had a project on the go. In later years, she served on the Hall Committee at Carriage Lane and will always be remembered for her winning ways, love of playing the organ, dancing, painting in water- colours, and her amazing talents as a hostess. She was well-known for her ability to cook, bake and organize events. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. A special thank you to all the wonderful staff at Christine Morrison Hospice. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 10:00 am at Henderson’s Funeral Home, 34537 Marshall Road, Abbotsford.
