ENGLUND, Dorothy M.
Dorothy M. Englund, age 88, formerly of Cottage Lane in Abbotsford. Born May 25, 1920, in Moline IL, she went to meet her Lord on February 14, 2009. Dorothy studied at North Park Bible Institute in Chicago, where she met seminary student Kenneth Englund, whom she married in 1948. Together Ken and Dorothy served numerous churches, including Green Timbers Covenant in Surrey; Bellingham Covenant; and Community Covenant in Wynndel BC. They retired to Abbotsford in 1987 and lived there until Ken's passing in 2001. Dorothy moved to Minnesota to be near her two sons.
She is survived by daughter Doreen (Gary) Corwin of Portland OR; two sons, Eric of Arden Hills MN; and Mark (Jane) of Shoreview MN; brother Herbert of Riverside CA; sister Twyla (James) Lundell of Moline IL; five dear grandchildren: Tyler, Sean, Reid, Spencer, and Alyssa; and special family friends Ester and Leos Hron of Surrey.
A memorial service will be held at 10 am on May 12, 2009, at Lakewood Cemetery Chapel, Minneapolis, MN. Memorial gifts may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada. Peace be to her memory.
