Doreen WOLF

WOLF; Doreen Claire (nee Kitchen)

October 14, 1934 – October 22, 2016

Doreen passed away peacefully at Mt Tolmie Hospital at the age of 82. Doreen will be missed by her daughter and son-in-law Karen and Jay McIntyre and her three grandchildren Kate, Jacob and Charlotte McIntyre. She is also survived by her brother Gary Kitchen and his family Elfreda, Shawn and Christy. Doreen was born in Anyox, BC. She was a graduate of nursing school from Vancouver General Hospital in 1956 and later received her nursing diploma from the University of British Columbia. Her nursing career took her on many travels and she was a flying officer in the Royal Canadian Air Force. She also spent some time working in the States.

Doreen then moved to Abbotsford, BC and worked as a Public Health Nurse in Abbotsford for approximately forty years. She raised her family and was involved in numerous volunteer agencies. She was an extremely hard worker and a very determined individual. She eventually retired to Vancouver Island in 2011 to be closer to her three grandchildren and spent many years being active in their lives. Doreen has requested no memorial service to be held.

She would appreciate any donations, on her behalf, to be made to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA). A special thanks to the staff at Mt. Tolmie Hospital for the excellent care they provided Doreen, especially during her final days.
