Passed away peacefully, with her family by her side.
Doreen moved to Canada from Shirebrook, England in 1974 with her husband, son, daughter-in-law and parents to join her sister and family in Mission. Her brother and his family followed shortly after.
Predeceased by her father Charles Day in 1979, mother Lily Day in 1986, brother Bill Day in 2003, sister-in-law Brenda in 1987 and brother-in-law John Zart in 1991.
Doreen is survived by her devoted husband Bernard, son David, daughter-in-law Susan, grandchildren Mark Bolland (Gloria), Lisa Kirby (Jamie), great grandchildren Jensen and Kaitlyn Kirby, Alec and Jared Bolland, sister Joyce Zart, nieces and nephews Stephen (Karen) Day, Karen (Bob) Stack, Martin (Sue) Day, Debbie (Rick) Trenholm, great nieces and nephews Richard, Kristen, Jamie, Chelsie, Jennifer, Jordan, Jessica, Stefan and Jayden and many more family members sand special friend Ted in England. Doreen will be sadly missed by all of her family and friends but will remain in our hearts forever.
A memorial service will be held Friday, November 5, 2:00 pm at All Saints Anglican Church, Second Ave., Mission.
Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in lieu of flowers. Cremation arrangements taken care of by Wiebe & Jeske of Abbotsford.
Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Sherwood Crescent Manor, though you never got to know Doreen, your care made all the difference in her final hours.
