September 11, 1944 – November 1, 2019
Beloved Donna, aged 75, passed peacefully on November 1st, All Saints Day — a fitting day for her departure. Donna was born September 11, 1944, and grew up in Shellbrook, SK. Graduating with a BScN in 1967 from the University of Saskatchewan, Donna thereafter worked as a Registered Nurse over a career spanning 51 years, only fully retiring at aged 74 from Arrowsmith Lodge, Parksville, BC. After moving from Abbotsford to Qualicum Beach in 1996, Donna enjoyed memorable moments sailing, surfing, ocean swims, golfing, and travelling.
She leaves behind children (Tiffany Goertzen, Abbotsford; Yale Moffat, Nanaimo; Shannon Nelson, Cumberland, BC) and grandchildren Noah, Bennett, Pierce, Beckett, and Chloe.
Even as she faced cancer, Donna’s cheerful, caring personality remained unchanged, and she rested steadfast in her Christian faith. Donna will be particularly missed by husband of 48 years, Glen. Donna was a one-of-a kind lady — a remarkable wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
In lieu of flowers, consider donating on her behalf to Samaritan’s Purse or to Operation Smile.
