BOK; Donald Anthony Frankland

February 4, 1947 ~ June 3, 2015


Don passed away peacefully in the Christine Morrison Hospice Residence at the Mission Memorial Hospital after a short bout with cancer. He leaves behind to grieve his wife, Rev. Dr. Dona J. Lethbridge of Kitimat, BC, his three beloved daughters Elizabeth, Carmen (Dylon Kieler) and Chelsea, a precious 4 month old grandson Kohen Dylon Donald Kieler, and his first wife Marion Bok Carmichael. He is also mourned by his sister Kendra, brothers Raymond, Stanley, Anton in the Netherlands, Ludo in New York City, his beloved cousins Marijcke Bolton in Kaneohe, Hawaii and Maffie Wijnberg in Brisbane Australia. Don was born in Amsterdam and raised in Rotterdam in the Netherlands. He immigrated to Canada in 1972 with his Canadian wife Marion. They moved to Mission in 1981 where their three daughters were born. Don entered the field of real estate. Throughout the rest of his life in Mission, he knew most realtors throughout the Fraser Valley and numerous clients he had served time and again over the years. Don loved international politics, read widely, and was an excellent cook. He was a handyman extraordinaire and enjoyed the challenges of computers. He and his second wife Dona were married in Hawaii on February 4, 2012 after which Don relocated to Kitimat because of Dona's ministry. There will be a Celebration of Life on Sunday June 28, 2015 from 1 - 5 pm, a barbeque open house at Don's Mission home 33410 Whidden Ave. Call Carmen at 604-832-8117 for more information.
