Dietrich Abram REMPEL

October 22, 2007

1922 - 2007

Dietrich went home to be with his Lord and Saviour, Monday October 22, 2007. He will be sadly missed by Katherine, his wife of 62 years, and his children Lorna (Rod) Jones, Wanda (Warren) Nikkel, Rob (Joy) Rempel, Karen (Allen) Giebelhaus and Steve (Ruth) Rempel as well as 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Dietrich was predeceased by his sister Irma Willms and brother Ernie Rempel. He is survived by 3 sisters Annie Peters, Katie Willms and Helene Klassen and one brother, Menno Rempel.

Born in Russia, Dietrich emigrated to Canada as a child, he lived and worked in the Abbotsford area for most of his life. As a pioneer in the South Poplar community during the Depression, he attended South Poplar and Mt. Lehman Superior schools. Most of his working years were involved in the construction industry, both locally and around the province.

More than anything else, Dietrich loved his family. He loved his wife and his children. He loved each of his grandchildren and prayed for them individually each day. He leaves a legacy of love for his family and devotion to Jesus.

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, October 25 at 2:00 pm in Central Heights Church, Pastor Nick Dyck officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Mennonite Brethren Mission Service International (MBMSI).
