McLENNAN; Diane Doreen Audrey. Aug. 26, 1938 ~ Feb. 23, 2014. Diane McLennan passed away at Surrey Memorial Hospital in the evening on February 23, 2014. She was a loving, compassionate, creative woman and was well known for being young in spirit. In her later years she was best known as "Gaia" by her grandchildren and many other young people. She instilled in them a love of art, west coast culture, and seaside adventures, always encouraging them to try new things and be themselves (and spoiling them a little bit). She spent the last year volunteering with the Mission Hospice Society, where she spent the last year using her exceptional creativity, organization skills and compassionate nature to care for others like she has her whole life.
She will be truly missed by many relatives and friends and especially by her children; Michelle (Ray) Schlein and Bradley Bunnett, and her grandchildren; Dieta (Andrew) Carlson and Natasha Schlein. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, March 22 at 2:00 pm at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church 32420 7th Ave., Mission, BC.
