TIMMERMANS

The Lord saw fit to take our son, brother, grandson and friend, Derrick Abraham Timmermans home on February 21, 2008 at the age of 25.

On February 18, Monday evening, he hit black ice while driving close to Revelstoke on his way home for a reading break from school. He collided with another vehicle and sustained major injuries. He maintained consciousness and was in good spirits until 10 hours later when he suffered a stroke, causing irreversible brain damage. He passed into God's glory 2 days later.

Derrick was born on October 14, 1982 in Abbotsford, B.C. He will be forever remembered and missed by his parents, Case & Jocelyn Timmermans, sisters, Jeanette, Renee & Chelsey; brothers, Corwin & Nathan; grandparents, Teunie Timmermans, Albert & Wilma Sevenhuysen and his many relatives and friends in Canada and the Netherlands.

He touched many lives with his ever present smile, deep faith in God and ongoing concern for others. Even in his death he was able to give life to others by donating all 7 of his organs and his eyes. This May he was supposed to graduate with a bachelor of business administration degree. He had just begun his 2.5 years of articling to complete his studies for chartered accountant. But now he has graduated to a much higher calling.

" Behind the horizon is a place of peace

Where feelings of comfort and joy never cease……

Our loved ones go here and the time will come when

We are all reunited in happiness again."

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 29, 2008 from 4-6 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Henderson's Funeral Home, 34537 Marshall Road, Abbotsford.

A service to celebrate Derrick's life will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Sevenoaks Alliance Church, 2575 Gladwin Road, Abbotsford.
