BALZER, David
David passed away into the presence of his Lord on September 7, 2010 at age 83. He was predeceased by wife Elizabeth; daughter Margie; and great-grandchild Josias and by his parents David and Anna Balzer and seven sisters. He is survived by children Louise Reimer, Connie (Walter) Rempel, Jake (Mary), David (Cheryl), Kathy (Greg) Hisdal, Gerry (Connie); foster son Hans (Barb) Froese; in-laws Jakob and Maria Janzen and Kathe Janzen. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
David was born in Mariental, Russia, emigrated to Paraguay, and then to Canada in 1954. He was a long time active member of the M.B. Church. His employment included working in plywood mill, spindle factory, and supportive care services for MCC. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and playing pool. He will be missed by family and friends. The family expresses special thanks to Dr. Winner, Dr. S. Gill and the staff of ARHCC for their care and support. Viewing will be at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Clearbrook Rd, Abbotsford on Friday, September 17, from 6:00 - 7:30 pm. Memorial service will be at Clearbrook MB Church, 2719 Clearbrook Rd, Abbotsford on Saturday, September 18 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Clearbrook MB Church TV Ministry would be appreciated.
