Dave HILDEBRANDT

May 30, 2009

HILDEBRANDT, Dave (John David)

July 23rd, 1942 to May 30, 2009

Passed away peacefully after a long battle. Predeceased by his parents, Dietrich and Linnie Hildebrandt and brother Don Hildebrandt. Survived by his wife, Wendy and 3 daughters; Melanie (Dean) Foster, Robin (Will) Ellis and Kristina and 4 grandchildren, Courtnee-lin, John David, William and Colin. And sisters Sally (Randy), Linda, Kathy (Russ) and nieces and nephew. And his Family by Love. The family extends thanks to the Abbotsford Paramedics, Abbotsford Fire Department and Cst John Wilcox for the kindness and support they showed. We also thank Wendy, Dawn, Shenelle, and June for the exceptional care they provided over the years. Dave was a long time employee of the District of Mission where his job was Truck Driver/Equipment Operator but his dedication was to his Union work in Cupe Local 1267. He believed in the union philosophy and the strength of the solidarity of the union brotherhood. He was also a member of the Mission Volunteer Fire Department where he initiated the use of the "slack chain". In his spare time Dave could be found chopping wood or collecting rocks for one of his numerous rock wall projects or on occasion on the golf course. Dave was a quiet man who seldom shared his feelings but if you want to be reminded listen to Willie Nelson sing "You Where Always on My Mind." In lieu of flowers, donations to the Salvation Army or the Red Cross. No service by request.

He will be missed.
