THIESSEN, Daniel Edward

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Daniel Edward Thiessen at Abbotsford Regional Hospital on Fri. Nov. 27, age 88 years. His passing was sudden but not unexpected after his struggle with heart failure became more pronounced. He was born Sept. 21, 1921 in Borden, Sask, the youngest of 7 children. Dan liked being around people and was always ready for adventure, whether it was new foods or road trips. He enjoyed the small pleasures of life - camping, walking, reading autobiographies, woodworking, crosswords, jigsaw puzzles and playing board games with family and friends. Dan was a quiet man whose Christian faith was also quiet but strong. He particularly found strength and comfort from reading his Bible. The family would like to thank the medical staff in the Emergency Room and on the ACE Ward for their kind care and compassion during Dan's last days. He is predeceased by his parents, 2 brothers, 4 sisters, 2 nieces and 1 nephew. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 53 years, Elizabeth, his 3 children, their spouses & 8 grandchildren: Carolyn (Larry) Kwiatkowski, Leanne (Dan) Withers, Charlene & Brendan; Arlene (Vern) Penner, Jesse & Ryan; Gordon (Julie) Thiessen, Rachel, Adam & Jillian. A Viewing will be held Thurdsay, Dec. 3, 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at he Bakerview Church, with the funeral service being held on Fri. Dec. 4.
