Daniel Patrick Foote was born August 4, 1924 in Grand Prairie, AB and passed away Nov 7, 2017 in Abbotsford B.C. with his daughter Julia by his side.

He is predeceased by his second wife Arlie (2013) and by his siblings; Bob, Tom, Marie, Peg, Ken and John.

Growing up in Grande Prairie, Danny developed a love for hockey and an athleticism that never left him. His family moved to Hedley B.C. during its mining heyday. During this time period as a teenager he was to meet his future wife and mother of their 7 children, Dolores Wilkinson.

As a young man he served for 2 years in the Canadian Navy during World War 2. Danny returned to Vancouver after the war and he and Dolores were married. It was during this time period he worked as a meat cutter for James Inglis Reid Meat Market on Granville Street.

He then moved to Cranbrook B.C. to begin a railroad career, eventually moving back to the lower mainland for the rest of his life. He retired from the railway and was a railroader through and through.

Raising 7 children he was a devoted father working 2 jobs at times to make ends meet.

Danny had many interests throughout his life, hunting, fishing, camping, hockey, woodwork, playing pool, mechanics and he took up golf in his retirement years. He was passionate about everything he did.

He will always be remembered for the principled and honourable way he lived his life, his integrity and his sense of humour.

He is survived by his children; Brian (Arlene), David, Cheryl (Dennis), Steven (Isabella), Marcia, Julia (Lance), and Laura, as well as his grandchildren Brendan, Jason, Kristen, Justin, Kaela, Leah, Katrina, Alexa, Jesse and great grandchildren Ashton, Isla, Dylan, Luke and Alia .

He also leaves many extended family members and dear friends.

A celebration of life will be held Saturda,y November 25, 2017 at Abbotsford Seniors Centre 2631 Cyril St. 2:00.
