Corrine Conlin passed away on June 19, 2016 after a four year battle with brain cancer; she peacefully slipped away after a day spent with her family, aunt and a close friend by her side. She is survived by her mother Norma and brother Wesley and was predeceased by her father Ross. Corrine was born in Calgary and spent her childhood growing up in a number of communities after her family moved to BC, including Williams Lake, Comox, Duncan and Nelson. She moved to Abbotsford around 1980 and lived there while she worked at the Ministry of Children and Family Development in Mission. She was very close to her family and good friends and loved travelling and taking in concerts and movies with them. She was fortunate to have been to Australia, Hawaii, Los Angeles, Reno and New York in her lifetime. She also kept close ties to her co-workers who were so supportive the past few years. She was incredibly brave as she went through her fight against cancer and always enjoyed visits from friends and going out for special occasions, and always said she was ‘OK’ with a smile when asked how she was feeling. She befriended many residents and staff at the care facilities she stayed in the past year and a half and her family would like to thank the staff at Sherwood Manor, The Mayfair, Hallmark on the Park and, especially, Bevan Lodge who were all so kind and caring in her final days. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, June 30, 2016 at 11:00 am at Henderson’s Fraser Valley Funeral Home, 34537 Marshall Road, Abbotsford, BC, with Major Lynda Richardson officiating. Interment will be at Valley View Cemetery in Agassiz, BC. Friends and relatives wishing to do so may make a donation to the charity of their choice in lieu of flowers.
