JONG
Mr. Cornelius "Cor" Jong of Abbotsford, BC, beloved husband of the late Geertruida "Trudy" Jong, passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 with his family at his side. He was in his 89th year. Cor will be dearly missed by his loving friend and companion Vi Blais of Abbotsford, BC.
He is survived by his sons; Ted (Elaine), of Edmonton, AB, and Gordon (Elizabeth) of Lethbridge, AB, daughters; Theresa Hogarth, of Coquitlam, BC and Elisabeth (Robert) Hale of Duncan, BC; daughter- in-law, Betty of Kelowna, BC, along with 12 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. Besides his loving wife Trudy, Cor is predeceased by his son Kenneth (December 1993), son Fred (January 2009), and great grandson Braeden (January 2006).
The family wishes to thank the staff at Bevan Lodge, and Abbotsford Regional Hospital for the care and compassion they gave their father in his final days. Prayers will be held at 7:30 pm on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, 33333 Mayfair Ave., Abbotsford, BC. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church.
