March 25, 1935 - July 7, 2018
Cornie passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home at the age of 83. Cornie loved to travel usually by cruise ship or just long drives by car, and on Saturday, July 7, 2018 he left on his final voyage. Cruise Director called and said "It's time to embark, no need to pack. We have everything you will ever need. Your Father and Mother and many more relatives and friends are waiting for you. This is the most beautiful ship you've even seen and it will be your new home. The ship has a big shop with old cars for you to tinker on. I see that you are tired. Let us take care of you, as you have always taken care of those around you." Cornie said "That sounds wonderful".

Cornie will be graciously welcomed into his new home, as he always welcomed everyone into his home. Due to his struggles fleeing a war ravaged country as a young boy, he worked hard as a farmer to ensure his family and those around always had enough. His generosity and huge heart is legendary. He was very much "The Boss" here and he will surely take on that role in his new place. He will find a Costco and load up the place with a ton of groceries in case others drop by. If he left instructions for his family on how to carry on, we haven't found them yet, and are lost as to what to do and how to feel. We hope to find them soon.

Loved ones who were waiting to welcome him were his Father, Frank Johann Dueck and Mother Anna Kornelia Dueck (nee Penner). Loved ones left here to miss him are his wife, the love of his life for 61 years, Annie Margaret Dueck (nee Toews), his only sister, Anne Francis Dueck, his children, Rudy Dueck (Alana), Ruby Sargeant (Bryan), Frank Dueck (Shelly), Peter Dueck (Sheila), Dan Dueck (Elly) and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.

The Family will have a Viewing on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 10:00 am to Noon at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Clearbrook Road, Abbotsford followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 pm at King Road Church Gymnasium, 32068 King Road, Abbotsford.

We invite those who knew and loved Cornie and those who wish to attend to support the family to join us and celebrate together. Please bring stories, photos for sharing.
