Cornelius “Butch” PENNER

November 28, 2005

Cornelius “Butch”, born June 6, 1937 passed into the presence of his Lord, at age 68, in the early morning hours of November 28, 2005 at M.S.A. Hospital in Abbotsford, B.C. Butch will be sorely missed by his wife of 43 years Dorothy Penner, who was truly his life’s love. Butch is also survived by his brother George Penner, sisters; Mary Falk and Helen Falk and predeceased by brothers Pete and Dave. His daughters Vickie (Spenst), Carrie (Allemeersch), sons-in-law Daryl and Robin and 7 beautiful granddaughters will always remember their papa with the fondest of memories of which there are plenty.

Butch was born and raised in Winkler, Manitoba working in their family store and handling livestock, developing many business and practical skills which he incorporated into his daily activities and was a point of distinction for all those who knew him. Shortly after marrying Dorothy, Butch moved his young family to BC, there he began his career working at Penner Tire but soon the entrepreneur and achiever in him spawned the opening of his own carpet store, and into a field of work which he never left. Butch’s work ethic, ability to befriend, love of family and his God are but a few of the memories that will create a void in the lives of all those who knew and loved him.

Public viewing will be held in the Chapel of Personal Alternative Funeral Services, 3070 — 275A Street, Aldergrove, B.C., Thursday, December 1, 2005, from 2:00-4:00 pm with a Memorial Service on Friday, December 2, 2005 at Ebenezer Mennonite Church, 2051 Windsor Street, Abbotsford, BC, 2:00 pm.
