COLLEEN MARGARET WYATT

March 14, 2004

Colleen Margaret Wyatt, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2004 at the age of 89 at Ebenezer Home.

Colleen is lovingly remembered by her daughter Valerie (Larry) of Victoria, granddaughter Laura Whieldon (Doug) of Maple Ridge, grandson Wyatt Mullin (Helen) of North Vancouver and her great-grandchildren Jennifer, Stephanie, Matthew, Amanda and Nicholas. She was predeceased by her much-loved husband Fred and daughter Betty.

Colleen was born in Melita, Manitoba on June 18, 1914, the eldest girl in a family of nine. She was predeceased by her brothers Alec, Jim, Jack, Ray, and Ted Banks, but maintained close ties with her sisters Audrey Shearer (Russ), Louise Sterling, Marie Anderson (Doug) sister-in-law Florence Banks and with her many nephews and nieces.

Colleen stayed home to raise her children, did volunteer work, then operated a florist shop and later a yarn shop in Winnipeg in the 1960's and 70's before retiring to Abbotsford with Fred in 1974. She loved curling, baking sugar cookies, playing bridge, putting on dinners, road trips and the colour blue. But most of all she loved her family and friends.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Ebenezer Home, particularly the staff of North Wing, who became her second family during the last three years. We also wish to thank Marie and Doug Anderson for their years of caring and support.

A memorial service for Colleen will be held on Friday, March 19, at 1:30 at Calvin Presbyterian Church, 2597 Bourquin Cres. E., Abbotsford. Phone 604-859-6902. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the BC Cancer Foundation, Suite 200 - 601 West Broadway Ave., Vancouver, BC V5Z 4C2.
