Born October 15, 1912 in Victoria, BC, died May 15, 2005 in Delta.

Colin was the third of four children born to Robert and Catherine McKenzie. He was predeceased by his parents, siblings and his first wife Dorothy. Colin is survived by his second wife Inez; children Margot, William (Bill) and wife Dianne, John and wife Sandy, Heather and husband Glenn, and nine grandchildren.

Colin was an educator, starting his teaching career in the Peace River during the Depression. He continued his education career through to retirement in 1976. He served three years with the Canadian Armed Forces during the Second World War and returned to teaching upon his discharge. He rose to become Superintendent of Schools in the Castlegar, Trail and Delta Districts. He played an important part in the establishment of BC’s first regional college, Selkirk College. He was a lifetime member of the Ladner Rotary Club and loved to travel, garden and dance. Colin especially liked to be at the family cabin at Shawnigan Lake.

Colin will be sadly missed by his family and friends. He was 92 years young and lived life to the fullest. Celebrate his passing as a life fulfilled.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, May 20, 10:00 am in the Chapel of Delta Funeral Home, 5329 Ladner Trunk Rd.
