Clayton C. Boldt

April 26, 1923 ~ February 4, 2017


Clayton Boldt passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord at 93 years of age. The last steps of his journey were surrounded with his favorite hymns, prayers, and words of love from his family. Clayton was born near Freemont, SK, and attended Flat Lake School along with four brothers and two sisters. In 1943 he joined the army and served for three years during WWII; serving in North Africa, Italy, and Holland. On July 5, 1946 he married his schooldays sweetheart, Dorothy Morris. They farmed in Saskatchewan for 25 years and raised their three children there. In 1970 they moved to Abbotsford, BC and Clay worked as a plumbing and building inspector for 14 years for the City of Abbotsford. Clayton and Dorothy enjoyed many years of travel with their 1980 Ford camper van. He enjoyed wood work, gardening, reading, and he was an active member of the Legion for 59 years. Clayton is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy, married for 70 years; children: Gloria (Allan) Gifford, Garry (Sharon) Boldt, Dona (Dave) Braun; grand- children: Gordon (Yoko), Steven (Terri-Lynn), Jesse, Jody (Nick), Josiah, Chad (Sharon), Cody; 8 great grandchildren; one sister, Odie (David) Wicks; one sister-in-law, Marg Bolt. A Memorial Service will be held on February 26, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Sevenoaks Alliance Church in Abbotsford, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitou Lake Bible Camp, or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
