DUNCAN CLARICE (CLARE)

(nee FERG)

Clare passed away peacefully June 14, 2009 at age 87. She was predeceased by her husband Don and three sisters. She is survived by their devoted sons Stuart (Kate) and Fraser, Stuart's daughter Sarah, as well as by many loved nieces & nephews. Clare was born and raised in Moosomin Sask. Upon graduating from the University of Manitoba with a BSC. (HE) in 1942, she worked as a chemist at the synthetic rubber plant in Sarnia, Ont., where butyl rubber was produced for self sealant gas tanks for aircraft in WW II. After the war she switched to therapeutic dietetics and worked in Bermuda, Montreal, and Vancouver. She married Don in Vancouver and later settled in Mission BC, where they opened Mile 44 Garden Centre in which she was involved until its sale in 1994. Clare loved the great outdoors, travel, gardening and music. She will be missed by the many whose lives she touched. A celebration of life will be held June 27, 2pm at the family home. In lieu of flowers donations would be welcomed by the Cancer Society, children’s charity or charity of your choice.
