DRANEY Chesley Harvey. Nov. 11, 1953 ~ June 1, 2011. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ches Draney, late of Abbotsford, BC, on June 1, 2011, surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer. Ches will be forever remembered by his wife of 37 years, Sharol; 4 daughters, Tammy (Cory), Christina (Lyle), Laura (Sunny) and Trisha (Dave); 9 grandchildren, Kashia, Colton, Jaidyn, Dalton, Jelissa, Payton, Janelle, Taylor and Ashton; mother, Shirley; brothers, Dennis (Lori) and Dean; sister, Colleen, as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by his son, Billy Draney (August 18, 1978); father, Frank Draney (December 16, 1989); brother, Darrell Draney (November 27, 2004) and father-in-law, Dave Bushman (August 18, 2001). Ches grew up on the family farm and in 1988 he and his brother Dennis took over their father's family business, Draney Bulldozing and Trucking Ltd. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, papa, son, brother and uncle. We will forever miss his words of wisdom that have guided us through the years. Ches will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all the people he touched over the years. His strength was a true inspiration to all.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, June 8th 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Northview Community Church, 32040 Downes Road, Abbotsford, BC with Dave Currie officiating. Internment at Hazelwood Cemetery to follow.
