SHARPE; Cheryl Joan. Dec. 27, 1945 ~ Sept. 21, 2013. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Cheryl Sharpe on September 21st at Abbotsford Regional Hospital. Cheryl was born in Natal, BC, grew up in Grand Forks, and lived in Penticton and Calgary, where she married Jim Sharpe. After moving to the Lower Mainland she enjoyed a long career in banking before eventually retiring from administration for the Correctional Service of Canada at Matsqui Institution in Abbotsford. She was predeceased by her husband Jim in February 2013 and her father Joe Altomare in 2001. She is loved and missed by her mother Joan Altomare, Penticton, BC; her children Jeff Gale (Debbie), Abbotsford, BC and Teri Sharpe, Langley, BC; her brother Jim Altomare (Wendy), Vancouver, BC; her brother-in-law David Sharpe (Carolyn), Stratford, ON, grandchildren Kerri Neufeld, Ashley Gale, and great-grandson Jordie Neufeld. Nieces and nephews Erin Altomare, Chad Altomare, Robin Sharpe, Brianna Sharpe and Michael Sharpe. Also her long time closest friend Carol Davidson, Abbotsford, BC. The family would like to extend a special thanks to family physician Dr. Donald Scaman for his many years of service and also to the staff in the Palliative Care Unit at Abbotsford Hospital for the comfort and care in Cheryl's final days.
