Passed away peacefully at the age of 93. Mom was born in Zuid-Scharwoude, Holland, the fourth of twelve children. Predeceased by husband, John in 1981; great-granddaughter, Sheena, in 2009; and son-in-law, Lawrence in 2013. Loved and missed by children; Margaret (Ken), John (Patty), Hank, Alida (Wayne), Vera, Bette (Rob), Cathy (Norm) and Gord (Cindy); twenty grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Also survived by sisters, Joanne and Wilhemina; brother-in-law, Jap Van Doorn and sister-in-law, Riet in Holland and one sister, Betty (Pete) in Abbotsford; as well as extended family and friends in Canada and in Holland. Mom and Dad married in 1948 in Holland. In 1955 they immigrated to Canada with four young children. Four more children were born and the family was complete. Mom was a hard-working, honest, kind, faithful and fun-loving woman. She was an avid gardener, and also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cross stitch and playing cards. She was an inspiration to us all. We thank Dr. Pauls and Menno Hospital E2 for their support. Mom was at peace in your care. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at 11:00 am at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, 33333 Mayfair Ave., Abbotsford, BC with Fr. Hien Nguyen celebrant.
