Catherine (Kay) passed into the arms of our Lord while at home on January 3rd, 2019. Kay was predeceased by her husband Harry (2007), granddaughter Hannah and grandson Joey. Kay is survived by her 13 children Janet (Rod Griffiths), Steve (Darlene), Chris (Bev), Kathy (Jack Vanderveen), Louise, Greg, Patrick, Tony (Karen), Phil (Kim), Michael (Shauna), Mary-Anne (Eric Brogaard), Paul (Tammy) and Tom (Kathleen). Kay is also survived by 38 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and sister, Helen Watson.
Kay was born to Jacob and Agnes Ebenal in Vernon, BC. At a very young age Kay moved to Vancouver, BC where she attended Little Flower Academy. Kay worked as a pediatric nurse at Vancouver General before marrying Harry Dodd on April 7, 1951. In 1954 Harry and Kay moved to Abbotsford to raise their family. Kay and Harry were founding members of Ledgeview Golf and Country Club where Kay was a Ladies Amateur club champion and dedicated member for many years. Kay was a life-long member of St. Ann's church and proud member of the CWL for over 60 years.
Prayers for Kay will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 7:00 pm at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, 33333 Mayfair Avenue, Abbotsford, BC. Mass of Christian Burial is Friday, January 11, 2019 at 11:00 am, at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Poor Clare's Monastery of Mission, BC.
