BITTERMAN, Carl

Mr. Carl Bitterman of Abbotsford, B.C., passed away into the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at age 90, at Worthington Pavilion. Carl was born in Runnymede, Saskatchewan on October 30, 1918. Carl loved the Lord with all his heart and saw Heaven as his joy and delight beyond this life. He is survived by his wife, Ferne Bitterman, of Abbotsford, whom he has been married to for 59 1/2 years; his son Rev. Rod Bitterman and wife, Linda of Chilliwack, grandchildren, Richard Bitterman (Nadine), of Port Coquitlam, Crystal Colbourne (David) of Chilliwack; his daughter, Maureen Lucas and her husband, Dr. Jim Lucas of Abbotsford, grandsons, Kris Lucas and Kyle Lucas of Abbotsford; his sister, Elsie Smith and husband, Rev. Stanley Smith of Kelowna; his brother, Allan Bitterman and wife Linda of Victoria. There are also many nephews, nieces, cousins, and extended family in BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Montana. He is predeceased by his parents Louise and Theodore, brothers; Ernie and Henry, his sisters; Clara, Pearl and Marion. Carl was a Canadian Military Veteran who served in the army from 1941 - 1945. The Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2009, 3:30 pm at Central Pentecostal Assembly, 9535 Williams St., N. Chilliwack, B.C. Rev. Rod Bitterman, Dr. Jim Lucas and Rev. John Coughlan will officiate the service.
