Calder Campbell DOW

Calder Campbell Dow peacefully passed away on January 16, 2005 in his 82nd year. He was born on November 19, 1923 in Newtongrange, Scotland.

He is survived by his wife Audrey and five children Christine (Jim) McCutcheon and their children, Brad, Erin, and Lynne; Ian (Heather) and their children Michael and Shannon; Gillian (Nick) Taccogna and their son Christopher; Heather Jean (Herb) Robertson and their children Elizabeth and Ian; and Sheena (Bill) Jarvis and their children Nicholas, Matthew and Sarah. He will also be missed by family in Scotland and across Canada.

Calder loyally served God and his country and gave a brother to WW II fighting in several campaigns and assisted with the release of prisoners of war camps. He came to Canada in 1951 and he dedicated most of his professional career assisting those in need in his community through the John Howard Society, Brannen Lake School for boys, the Corrections Dept., Yellowknife, NWT and various Social Services offices throughout BC. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2005 at 11:00 am at Henderson’s Funeral Home, 34537 Marshall Road, Abbotsford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the M.C.C. in memory of Calder or charity of your choice.

Calder’s ashes will be sent to Scotland where a traditional Scottish service will be held with interment in the family plot.
