Cal Edward Harris passed away suddenly but peacefully at his home on January 2, 2015. Cal was the eldest of five children born to Dave and Shirley Harris in 1957. He was raised and educated in Thunder Bay, ON and in 1979 joined the Air Force to begin a long and successful career keeping his beloved CF 18's flying. As a proud member of the 410 Squadron he was stationed in Cold Lake, AB and Baden-Soellingen, Germany. He was a Gulf War Veteran and saw active duty in Qatar. Upon returning to Cold Lake he retired from the Air Force and moved to Abbotsford where he began employment with Cascade Aerospace. He was a very talented aircraft mechanic who took great pride in his work. A soft spoken quiet man with an infectious laugh, he had many friends who loved him. Cal had a passion for drums, CCR, cats and 1974 Camaros. Predeceased by his parents, Cal is survived by his daughter Heather of Edmonton, AB, her mother Susan of Cold Lake, sisters Kim Radl, LeeAnn Muzzin, brothers Shawn of Thunder Bay, ON, and David of Brookes, AB, as well many nieces, nephews and cousins across the country. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Friday, February 13, 2015 at 5:00 pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Clearbrook Road, Abbotsford. In lieu of flowers, should friends so desire donations may be made to the George Jeffries Children's Foundation in Thunder Bay, a charity that held a special place in Cal's heart.
